My Mozambique support totals came in today at $3,015. I am $685 away from being fully supported....and then $10,000 away from my personal, "God-breathed" goal of $10,000.

Why raise $10,000??

I have sent out many support letters, passed out cards and told complete strangers my story about God calling me to raise $10,000 for the children of Mozambique. There are times I question if God really called me to do this....or if I just got a crazy thought in my head and said it was from God...or maybe it was just gas!!! Funds have trickled in slowly and I am close to meeting my goal for the trip itself. But God is going to have to do a mighty work for me to reach $10,000. I am questioning how that will work...how it will look. Is it $10,000 that will pour in from family, friends and random people I meet? Or will it be from walking around Rockwall with the sponsorship committee asking people to support our 5K? Will it be an anonymous donor? Will it happen at all?? I know it not my place to question God and that I can't see His plan or the "big picture". But I know I can't lose hope or faith in Him.

Have you donated yet?? Have you checked out the Children's Relief website and seen the need? If not, please do so. It is www.childrensrelief.org. Here are some things the money could go to:

El Shaddai (a school building) $100,000
Church Plant Building $10,000
Playground $1,500+
Green Door Home $2,500
Food Pantry $1,000
Bibles $10 each
Child Sponsorhsips $30/month
Microloan $50
Stock Pharmacy $500/month
Baby Supplements $300

Please be in prayer about donating to this cause....if you can't afford a donation, please be in prayer for others to give. And please be in prayer that I keep faith in God and His plan.

BUSY LITTLE BEE...

I had a nice relaxing day but still got quite a bit done for my mission of raising $10,000 for the people of Mozambique. I created some business cards and flyers that I am hoping to distribute around the community. And I also made one of the two shirts that I will be wearing as often as possible in the community. And of course, a lime green one will be in the making son! These were just a few ideas and waiting on more to pop in my head!

NUMB TONGUE from licking envelopes!

Cam thinks it is so gross to lick envelopes, so of course I licked them all just to bug him!!! We have had our work cut out for us but we finally completed the support letters. The are signed, sealed and about to be delivered to the post office. They are going out later than I had anticipated because I was at camp for a week with my 5th graders. I prayed and prayed over them!! I am sending out roughly 80 as of now but am waiting on some more addresses. (If you would like one and I don't have your address, email me at jle@rockwallisd.org). If everyone sent back at least $20 that would be $1,600!! I am hoping they will feel led to send much more than that.

Tomorrow I am venturing out into the community. I am not sure where God is leading me but we will see what the days brings. I am thinking about talking to gas stations about letting me have a donations jug at their counter. Even if people don't put loose change or cash in, maybe they will be see the website and check out the blog.

Welcome!!

I am so excited that you have visited my blog and hope that you will follow me on my money raising endeavors!!

**BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Our Life Group (Bible study class at church) has a team going to Mozambique, Africa this summer to build a Green Door Home (cinderblock home), teach English, feed hungry children, serve at El Shaddai Christian School, assist with Project Life, a compassion ministry to AIDS widows, and distribute Portuguese Bibles-the language of Mozambique. I am blessed to be one of the people going this summer!

Last week at Growth Group (my small group Bible Study), Stacey asked us to think of 3 New Years goals that would glorify the Lord and further His Kingdom. As I was writing, a crazy thought popped in my head. I even said out loud, "Is this from me or from God?" because if you know me, you know I get some CRAZY ideas. The girls encouraged me to trust God and write it down....and if it came from Him it WOULD happen. So, I put it in writing..."Raise $10,000 for Mozambique." OH NO!!! What I have gotten myself into??? So, I am asking for your help....what are some creative ways I can do this? I am working on support letters for the trip but know that won't be enough (they will be going out this week). I know God knew he could ask me to do anything and I would-even if that means standing on the side of the road or at Walmart with a sandwich board sign. I am going to make shirts to wear as often as I can in public with the address to this blog. I plan to BLOG my ideas and successes.....so follow me as I hope to glorify my awesome KING and help those in Mozambique.
